A Day Out in the Heart of the Cotswolds
If you’re looking for the perfect countryside escape, Cotswold Farm Park offers a wonderful mix of animals, adventure, and agricultural heritage. Founded by farmer and TV presenter Adam Henson, it’s one of the UK’s top family attractions — where learning meets fun.
Set among rolling Gloucestershire hills, the park celebrates British farming, rare breeds, and sustainable living, making it a must-visit for families, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to experience rural life up close.
A Farm with a Purpose
Opened in 1971 by Joe Henson, Cotswold Farm Park was the first in the world to focus on preserving rare and native farm animal breeds. Today, Adam Henson continues that mission, promoting conservation and connecting visitors with Britain’s farming roots.
You’ll find over 50 rare breeds of cattle, sheep, pigs, and goats — all part of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust’s conservation programme.
It’s both educational and heartwarming — every visit supports a working farm that protects these animals for future generations.

1. Meet the Animals
Get hands-on with friendly farm favourites:
Feed lambs, goats, and pigs in the Animal Barn.
Cuddle chicks, rabbits, and guinea pigs in the Discovery Barn.
See newborns during lambing and calving season.
Kids love the interactive experiences, while adults enjoy learning about each breed’s history and characteristics.
2. Rare Breeds Trail
Take a scenic walk along the Rare Breeds Trail, winding through fields and paddocks with information boards explaining each animal’s story. It’s an easy, family-friendly route with beautiful Cotswold views.
3. Adventure Play & Farm Safari
After meeting the animals, burn off energy at the adventure playground, jumping pillows, or hop aboard the Farm Safari tractor ride for a guided tour of the wider estate.
Learn about seasonal farm work, crops, and conservation in action.
Eat, Drink & Relax
The Ox Shed Café serves locally sourced meals, cakes, and coffee with countryside views. Enjoy hearty breakfasts, light lunches, or a traditional cream tea after your farm adventure.
